Gonzales Public Library
The Public Library houses a collection of items to meet the informational and recreational reading needs of the citizens of Gonzales and Gonzales County. The collection includes: adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books, reference section, Texana history, newspaper, magazines, books on tape, videos, audio visual equipment, genealogy collection, and microfilm. Census records and the Gonzales Inquirer from 1859 to the present are on microfilm. The Library also has a study area available for public use.

Library Services
A collection of over 35,000 books is available to patrons.
Books, journal articles, research information, and microfilm census records are available.
Area newspapers and the Wall Street Journal are provided for reading in the Library.
DVD's, VHS videos, current periodicals, and books on tape, are available for loan.
A slide projector and audio-visual projection screen may be rented by organizations, businesses or individuals.
An annual Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the Gonzales Public Library and the Texas State Library, is held annually for area school children and young readers.
An extensive collection of Texana is available for research or circulation.
A copy machine is provided for public use.
An extensive Genealogy Department attracts researchers interested in local, state, and national records. Census information and local newspapers are preserved on microfilm for viewing on the Reader / Printer.
