Gonzales City Utilities
Service Connection Policies
- All residential customer's of the City's utilities are required to meet one of the following:
- Post a deposit.
- Produce a letter of credit from previous utility providing the same kind of service within last three (3) months and excellent credit history for at least twelve (12) months.
- Have an excellent credit history* with the City utilities for not less than twelve (12) months in the same name. No name change will be allowed without a new deposit.
*An excellent credit history shall be defined as twelve (12) months payment history with no penalties, no disconnects for nonpayment, and no returned checks or bank drafts. All other accounts will require a deposit.
- Minimum deposit on all accounts is $50.00.
- Any time that an account is cut off for nonpayment, the utility clerk shall insure that the appropriate deposit, past due bill, current bill and the re-connect fee is collected.
- Failure to post the required deposit will cause the utilities not to be connected or re-connected.
- A change in service classification will change deposit requirements. No name change will be allowed without a new deposit.

Same Day Connects $50.00

Payment extenstions $50.00
