The Water Department is responsible for maintaining 85 miles of water mains. This department inspects water distribution lines, installs new water taps, repairs any damaged water lines, and replaces inefficient water meters and main valves. Routine water samples are tested to assure the safety and efficiency of the system. The City has two water wells and operates one water plant that provides high quality water, well within compliance of applicable state and federal standards.
