On behalf of all citizens of Gonzales I want to welcome you to the "Place where the fight for Texas Independence began!" This proud City boasts over a hundred historical markers validating our significant role in Texas History.

I hope you will take-in and relish the abundant history and recreation of our award-winning City, and encourage you to take advantage of all the energy and opportunities available here in Gonzales. Cattle and poultry have long provided our economic base. However, through vigorous and progressive economic development efforts in recent years, many new and diverse industries have opened, increasing our economic opportunities.
