Any owner, authorized agent or contractor who desires to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, re-roof or change the occupancy of a building or structure, modify load and non-load bearing walls or to cause any such work to be done shall first fill out an application and submit it to the Building Official.
Who needs a permit?
According to City Ordinance No. 2011-27 a specific use permit must be obtained for keeping livestock within the city limits. These permits can be obtained from the City Secretary at the Gonales Municipal Building, located at 820 St. Josepht Street.
City Ordiance No. 2011-22 regulates garage sales. The City of Gonzales aims to preserve, enhance and perpetuate the economic value and the residential character of the city’s neighborhoods in part by regulating garage sales. No person shall conduct a garage sale within the City of Gonzales without first filing an application for a permit for the garage sale. A fee shall be charged for the issuance of such permit. The permit which shall be prominently displayed on the premises, shall contain the name of the person who will conduct the sale, the address at which the sale will be held and the dates on which the sale will be held.
Garage sale permits can be obtained at the Gonzales Municipal Building located at 820 St. Joseph Street.
